Little Harpies originated from a creative exercise in which we had to combine an animal with a superpower. When I drew a parrot and the power of fire, I imagined a hero who was half-human, half-parrot, which led me to discover the mythological figure of the harpy. This discovery inspired the series, which merges Greek mythology with the anatomy of the agapornis, a small parrot widely known as a pet.

The guiding question for this series is:
What would it be like to have a little harpy as a pet?Like an agapornis, these fantastic creatures would be energetic beings with an affectionate nature, always seeking closeness to their owners. However, much like these birds, their interaction could be dangerous, leading to accidents and unpredictable situations. My goal is to reinterpret elements of mythology through symbolism. By merging these myths with the agapornis, I aim to create a visual narrative that blends the fantastical with the real, highlighting the everyday coexistence between humans and birds. Each harpy has a distinct personality, and the images reflect how living with them —full of energy and affection— could be dangerous for humans, much like the unpredictability of having wild animals as pets.
